      Can the OPT port be used as an second WAN port on the SG-1100? I am planning to use OPT port as a failover WAN connection if the main WAN port connection fails. Can the SG-1100 do this? Are there any docs or howtos on this topic? Thank you in advance.

        Yes. The OPT port is identical to the other ports, it can be configured however you wish. Just set it as a DHCP client and connect it to a 2nd WAN device. Then any of the usual docs apply:

          Thank you Steve for the information. But what about the lan ports on the SG-2100? Can one of thouse be setup as a wan interface? I have not yet decided which one of the two netgate devices to get.

            Yes, those can be used as a WAN also. They require some additional config to separate out for individual use but it's not hard:
