Pure NAT: What is the IP Address that I see?
-
Hi,
when using Pure NAT, what is the IP address that I see on the NATed service when accessing from an internal machine? Is it the address of a WAN interface (if multi WAN, which WAN), is it the IP address from the internal side of the firewall (where the service resides), or do I see my internal machine's IP?
Thanx,

AT least if client and server are connected to the same interface (request are coming in and going out on the same interface) pfSense turns the source IP into its interface IP.
If they are connected to different internal interfaces it might be the origin source IP, don't know.
But it's never the WAN address.
