I have used pfSense since the 1.2x days and have replaced all clients with the it and quite happy.

Recently, I performed a test for my own home network of an old Linksys HW with recent OpenWRT (Linux based) vs SG 3100 w/latest Plus 22.05 with no packages installed and was surprised at result.

Anyone know why such a large disparity in performance? Is this the reason TNSR is based on Linux?

Hmm, I would not expect a 3100 to throttle at 650Mbps with a default config.

You may have something else in the link throttling that somehow. Or some connection issue to/from the 3100. Though that usually produces a far lower result.
