As reference, we have this old topic, that seems to have died: XG7100 DDR4-2400 1.2V SODIMM (NON ECC)

I am having exactly the same problem - I have tried the crucial CT16G4SFD824A.C16FP in 3 different 7100s, and even after 2 hours, I had no console output. The memory module seems to work fine though in a notebook and a NAS, so that shouldn't be the issue.

Isn't this exactly the module you are shipping when ordering a MAX unit?

      Thanks

      Babak

We certainly were fitting that module at one time but I can tell you the suffix in the part number is important. We did have a batch with a different suffix that could not be used in the 7100 even though the claimed specification was identical.
We test each upgraded module in the device before shipping to be sure.
There are some reports here of other modules that people have used successfully.

          Hey Steve,
thanks - so it seems, this must also be the wrong suffix, at least for the current revision of 7100 boards.

I will order a module from the netgate shop then ;-)
