2.6.0 install "checksum for base.txz does not match" error
-
After creating 4 brand new USB install drives to try and get through the failed to detect boot device errors and checksum for base.txz does not match errors during the initial installation... I can NOT find a way to create usable install media using pfsense in any way, shape or form. I've tried both the USB Memory Stick installer and the ISO image... both run into the same installation problems. I've verified the installation steps, used Rufus, win32 imager, Etcher for windows... but using my Windows 10 machine it seems to be impossible to create a working install.
I've validated no known hardware issues with the system creating the install USB, verified no bad blocks on the usb, verified the system the install should be run on has no issues booting or any hardware compatibility issues that i could find.
I've tried downloading the same 2 options for every available mirror, wiping and reusing the USB, trying a new usb, and tried all the mentioned methods to make the USB. Any suggestions?
I am trying to install this to a M.2 nvme drive, but i would imagine that should not be an issue.

That error during the installation process usually means it's having trouble reading the installer media. The correct image to use would be the USB memstick installer and the best way to image it is with Etcher.
You might have tried multiple USB thumb drives but were they all the same brand/model? It might be that the system/BIOS/hardware doesn't get along with that particular drive type. We've seen that happen on occasion, especially with certain combinations of USB drives and USB 3.0 ports. We've also seen errors on certain hardware with high capacity USB drives where smaller drives work fine.
If the target system has other USB ports you might also try using those, especially if the one you're having a problem with is USB 3 and there is a USB 2 port you can try.
