I just installed pfsense, and the squid and squidguard package.
I checked "Allow users…", "Transparent", logs, port 80, created a user, and left the rest by default.

The problem is that I can only access google pages, when I click on any other link outside of google the page doesnt load. I only get the title of the page sometimes ..
Is there anything I should configure to make the proxy work with any pages not just google ?
    (I havent enabled squidguard yet..)

Another issue I have is that I cannot access the pfsense admin pages when squid is running, I have to login through ssh, kill the pid and then I can access it again.
What can I do about that ?

    squid access logs:
    "..
    1250440010.466      0 192.168.1.100 TCP_DENIED/400 2168 POST error:invalid-request - NONE/- text/html

    "

    Cache logs:
    2009/08/16 18:26:43| clientReadRequest: FD 59 (192.168.1.100:43931) Invalid Request
    2009/08/16 18:26:50| clientReadRequest: FD 54 (192.168.1.100:43935) Invalid Request

(The same urls load fine if I bypass pfsense..)

    Thanks for any help :)

change your gui port other than 80.

I have Squid transparent at default port of 3128
my gui port for pfsense is 445
        squid and squidguard work perfect.

It works fine now, thanks !

I just have another problem, I seem to have to renew my ip lease every 5 min to be able to access the Internet/web, although my ip remains and I can access my local network http servers ..

Any idea what can cause this ?

Other devices (iphone, squeezebox etc..) dont have this problem.
The laptop was working fine through my ipcop box..
I left the default dhcp lease time in the settings.

seems to have been a problem between the eth0 and eth1 interfaces on the laptop ..
            it all works fine now.
The Proxy is a bit slow sometimes though, I 'll have to use it for some time to compare with the ipcop box I had ..

if you search for slow squid, there are many threads the subject that may help.
