    Hello,

After upgrading a pfSense cluster from 2.5.2 to 2.6.0 I started having issues with the HA sync.

I noticed the following error in the master pfSense
"/rc.filter_synchronize: Retrying XMLRPC Request due to error: A communications error occurred while attempting to call XMLRPC method host_firmware_version: Request timed out due to default_socket_timeout php.ini setting"

Also, every 20-25 minutes I can't access the backup node because I receive the error "pfsense 504 gateway time-out nginx" and I have to restart the php-fpm to recover the connection

I think both errors are related but I can't find any particular error that can help to solve it

    Does anyone have this situation?

    Thanks and regards

Did you follow these instructions when doing your system upgrade? https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/install/upgrade-guide-ha.html

Yes, I followed those steps. I have made pfSense upgrades before and never had issues until this time

Adding to the previous post, I can see the following message in the backup node repeatedly "/xmlrpc.php: Adding group"

@jcascante I would reboot the backup (you can get to the console or in via SSH to do that). I would also consider reinstalling pfSense from the ISO and then restoring the config from your backup to see if it comes back up without any further complaints.

I just finished the reinstall a few minutes ago but still having the same issues. The HA sync is not working and it's required to restart the php-fpm in the backup node every 20-25 minutes

I found information in the following link
            https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/11583

I'm going to check and let you know how it goes
