Re: Using igc# ports as WAN ports on 6100?

I saw the topic in the reference where it describes a very similar situation as the one I have but it did not get any resolution so trying creating a new topic, hope some one can shine some light myway

I have a speed from my ISP of 1200 download 40 upload and currently I am using the IX3 combo port and that port is 1gb max speed so technically I am loosing little bit there.

I thought on using the lan ports igc0-3 since those are 2.5gb speed; but when I changed the assignment for the WAN interface it never get an IP, shows 0.0.0.0. (Yes, I double triple check that I am connecting modem to the correct port in the assignments)
I changed back the assignment to ix3 and works no problem.

Any idea on what am I missing?

@betoaz In the "for whatever it's worth" category, I am successfully using igc3 on a 6100 as the WAN interface.

          Yeah, that should be possible.

Is the igc port actually linking? At 2.5G? Do you see link LEDs at either end?

What does Status > Interfaces show?

@stephenw10 Issue is solved now, ISP tech support came to change modem and that seem to fix my problem but still something does not feel right but at this point I have connectivity through the igc0 port so I am happy.

Thank you so much for your responses @stephenw10 and @dennypage.
