      Hi,

I've had pfSense working for a couple weeks now. Yesterday I was adding a NIC to my home server and somehow that messed up my internet connection. I corrected my LAN issue but I still having issues. My WAN connection is showing the public IP but I can't get any response to a public Ping test (Internal works fine) or DNS Lookup. I'm not really sure where to even start looking here. If this is a DNS issue or routing issue, etc. All the network equipment has been rebooted several times.

If I plug my computer directly into the cable modem, my computer gets internet so I know it still works to my house. I also restored to a couple days ago when my last settings were changed and everything was working fine until the changes yesterday.

@tswany11 Is this pfsense running virtual or bare metal on your "server" machine?

It appears like none of my firewall rules are working. Could that be it? I have a couple isolated networks with some rules set up to allow specific devices between the networks and none of that seems to be working. What settings would I check? In the advanced menu under firewall the disabled firewall is unchecked.

Just to update this in case anyone looks at this later. I ended up reflashing pfsense and setting up front scratch. I had screen shots of most my setup but even by 2 week old backup was corrupted.

My lesson learned is to take backups of individual portions of the setup in case something gets corrupted.
