Using Backup/Restore as DHCP Reservation List Entry
-
I am changing to pfSense on a Netgate device and have about 80 DHCP reservations to move to the new device. I generated a DHCP Backup .xml file and am editing it to add <staticmap> entries for each of my reservations. I remove all of the empty xml tags leaving only populated <mac>, <cid>, <ipaddr>, and <hostname> tags inside each <staticmap> tag.
After the import there are no log file entries showing anything other than normal operation.
This seems to import correctly and seems to work fine. Is there any reason this should cause problems?
I'm asking these questions before I take the new device into a production environment.
Thank you for all responses.

@PeterHouse Sounds like you did everything right. I would additionally add another entry for a device that you have in your test/prep environment to make sure it works as expected before taking it into production.
