Shell Mode Display Resolution
-
Hi!
My pfSense and Network are connected to a 65" Display. When I go to pfsense in shell mode to do some tweaking or experiment everything is truncated. Can't see text on the left side, top and Bottom of the screen. What would be a could setting that would increase the font size 20x and move the text to the right further and adjust the top and bottom margin as well so that everything is visible.
I guess this needs to be done in Local.conf?

You might be able to load the drm driver which gives you might more options for the console resolution. What hardware is it?

I'm using a mini itx system (AM4) with integrated gpu connected to a 65" LG Oled
What would be the procedure for drm driver so I could experiment on it?
Thanks for the reply

Ah, sorry I misremembered there drm is only the framework, you'd need a driver for your specific graphics hardware. The only time I've seen this done was for the HDMI port on the MBT-2220/4220:
https://docs.netgate.com/platforms/minnowboard/faq.html#my-hdmi-doesnt-always-work-is-there-a-fix-for-thisYou can set to the native resolution of the display to get a much nicer console image. The text is actually smaller though but that opens up a load of other settings you might try.
There are some other things you might try here:

Maybe this post could help? I used the last suggestion to increase the screen size of my connection in Hyper-V.
Add in/boot/loader.conf.local
Maybe try juggling the X,Y numbers to fit?
