      Hello,

The XG-1541's product page states that it is compatible with the CPIC-8955 Cryptographic Accelerator Card. I am trying to determine whether the XG-1541 supports any of the newer Intel QAT cards. Under expansion, it lists:

      "1x PCI-E 3.0 x 16 (in x4) AOC Slot"

Is it possible to utilize this PCI-E slot with the Intel 8960 (PCI-E 3.0 x8) or the Intel 8970 (PCI-E 3.0 x16) by using the correct riser card?

The 1541 has an PCIe 3.0 x16 slot that has 4 lanes available (x4). Theoretically you can use either of those cards since PCIe will simply use the available lanes. The total throughput to the card would be reduced but that's unlikely to be a limiting factor in pfSense.
