      Hello,
I'm trying to get the Wifi working of a WLE900VX Wifi card on a PCEngines APU4D4 running PFSense. The Wifi card is not recognized in PFSense. PCEngines answered a support request by saying *BSD would not be suitable for the APU and I should rather use a Linux based software. According PCEngines a ath10k driver is not supported.
In the past I used successfully Zeroshell on an ALIX board, but unfortunately Zeroshell is EOL.
Hope someone can help (workaround for the driver) or in the worse case a Linux alternative for PFSense. Any suggestion would be very much appreciated.
      Thanks a lot in advance.

Yes, the athp(4) driver for that NIC is still a work in progress.

        OpenWRT supports it.

          Your chance is here more to go with;
          Firewalls

          • Untangle
          • ClearOS
          • Endian
          • IPfire

          Routers

          • OpenWRT or DD-WRT

          • MikroTik RouterOS

          • VyOS Documentation from Oct 24, 2022
Well working WiFi cards are Compex WLE900VX and Intel AX200

In some rarely cases you may be the lucky one, if you find a supported wifi card and you can use a/b/g/N but not the
ac/ax option on the same card, again that is really rarely!

          Alternative 1
Go an buy a more strong hardware as an Intel N5005
or N6005 for around ~200 € at amazon.de and set up
on your device OpenWRT with that card and a mSATA.
(You need for a actual installation 4 GB RAM and 32 GB
          HDD/SSD space)

          Alternative 2
Go and get a Compex WLE200NX card and set it up
in your pfSense firewall, best option as today may be the 3x3 MiMo WiFi "N" card for pfSense.
