I've followed this guide to redirect DNS requests to my local AdGuard server by replacing the localhost IP w/ the server's. Another rule has been created for IPv6 traffic too and everything works well.

However, I'd like to have AdGuard comprehensively handle all that it can and be able to block web requests. I've also followed the linked guide to force all DNS traffic through the firewall and subsequently AdGuard, but my internet connection just dies.

What should my firewall configuration look like to accomplish cooperation w/ AdGuard assuming the firewall is on 192.168.1.1 and AdGuard is on 192.168.1.2?

I've gone ahead and followed this guide on my firewall to avoid having to configure preferences against a system behind the firewall.

And it blocks everything it needs to from LAN clients after I configured the firewall rules referenced in the first post.

However I have a Wifi mesh system linked to the firewall that seems to agree with some blocks, but connecting to some hosts from my smartphone isn't blocked when they should be. Is there something more that needs to be configured?
