Today, one of my gateways went down and from Status -> gateway, it was properly noted. However, i still could not surf from my computers connected on the LAN. I pinged several hosts like public dns server 4.2.2.4 and it was going through. When I changed the DNS server on my computer to 4.2.2.2, i can surf.

I am using DNS forwarder on the box so it seems like my dns requests to my box aren't routed through the load-balance gateway. Is that a limitation of DNS forwarder? Should I set up the DNS on each of my machines instead?

In 2.0, you have to select your second WAN for one of the DNS servers. In 1.2.x, you have to add a manual static route to push it out the second WAN.
