Installing pfSense on a WatchGuard Firebox T30
-
Hi All
I have a Firebox T30 and I am wanting to install pfSense on it. I have opened it up and it seems like the OS is installed on an SD card. Does anyone know if this is possible and, if so, can you provide instructions?
Thanks,
Jon

The Freescale P-series processors are ARM. You will not be able to install pfSense in any normal way. You might be able to compile it from the public github sources but the driver support for the NICs may be limited.
There is no ARM installer for pfSense CE. And you cannot install pfSense Plus without having first installed CE.

This prob. belongs to the "Hardware sub-forum", but i think i can answer quite confident. It seems like that box uses a Freescale (now NXP) PowerQUICC (Power PC) Processor.
There is no public known pfSense images, compiled for PowerPC.

Can confirm there aren't any PPC but when I looked up that CPU I found it referenced as an ARM processor.
Either way - the result is the same: you'll have to compile on your own and there won't be any support available from Netgate on it, and the forums are scant on details for those CPUs in unsupported situations. -

Yes, this is unlikely to ever be supported be supported by pfSense. Looks like it already has some support over at OpenWRT though:
