I have three access points around the house. I am thinking about implementing a RADIUS server, in order to be able to have a single location for SSID passwords.

Is the freeradius3 package (currently at 0.15.7_33) reliable?

@dominikhoffmann I’ve not seen any issues using FreeRadius for WPA Enterprise.

Same thing here : using FreeRadius as my centralized captive portal user/password manager.
Works fine for the last couple of years.

Still, it's one thing more to 'update' and maintain.
I'm also using a MySQL (MariaDB) database as the FreeRadius 'scratch pad', running on my NAS, which gives me some flexibility. But if the NAS didn't power up after a power down (example : power loss) the portal access won't work.

edit : Netgate posted a blog about FreeRadius last week : FreeRadius on pfSense software for Two Factor Authentication so they seem to trust it also.

Edit : and where are the logs ??

@dominikhoffmann I also use freerad, good tool but the GUI is a little old. Have you looked at the captive portal on PFsense? Just another option though I think I saw somewhere a few years ago about issues with IPv6. Supports radius as well
