      Hello fellow Netgate community,

Is there any way to use a USB security hardware key with Pfsense for logging into the firewall?

This would require you to have the USB security key to login plugged into the system you are trying to access the firewall on. So when you use the GUI you could set it to only let you login when that usb key is plugged in.

      Example:
Yubico FIDO Security Key NFC - Two Factor Authentication USB and NFC Security Key

        Not currently.

There are a number of open feature requests open such as:
        https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/4242

However it's likely a software auth method will be added first.
