I don't know where else to post this.... intel QAT drivers support
-
Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am looking for help.
I purchased a SILICOM PE2ISCO+ intel QAT for VPN bandwidth and in pfsense 2.6, 2.7 and 22.01 it was not detected.
lo and behold, 22.05 upgrade and suddenly I have the support for intel QAT enabled in my crypto hardware tab.
can someone please enlighten me, what package is responsible, from 22.05 that enables addon QAT co-processor support?
don't get me wrong, I am very thankful I can utilize it, I Was wondering if there's a possibility to possibly integrate it in earlier versions for those who are more reluctant to upgrade.
and to those who are reluctant to upgrade, addon QAT support is there in 22.05
Thank you!

@gothixkhan QAT was added in 22.01:

Not sure why it didn't work for you there, no insight on that. -

Support for QAT in general was added in Plus 21.02 and is only in Plus.
Over time as the underlying OS and drivers get updated, more cards/chips are supported. The card you have was probably not supported by the driver until 22.05.
The QAT drivers in the upcoming 23.01 release support even more. Such is the nature of progress.
We don't backport drivers like that to older/prior releases, and there is little reason to not be on 22.05 at this point.
