      Is there potential for an 8200 Wall Mount Kit option?
      Or would the vertical orientation negatively affect the thermals too much?
      The manual only mentions additional hardware for desktop placement.

      And can you confirm the 8200 is not affected by any of i226 disconnect bugs being reported on other platforms?

      Thanks

        @flynace Netgate has Published a video on Youtube Out of the Box for the 8200, in the video near the end, it;s stated it can be taken of the 1u rack either free standing with supplied rubber feet, or optional wall mount kit.

        I can't answer about the i226 bug, hopefully it's not effected, as I have ordered one, just waiting for it to arrive.

          @negan Thanks - I had not noticed the YT video and the online manual only mentioned free standing. Hopefully they will add the Wall Mount Kit as a purchase option soon or confim it is compatible with another kit like the 6100 Wall Mount.

            @flynace Hopefully add the wall Mount soon, but I think it will be the same one the 4100 and 6100 use.
            The 8200 will be a huge upgrade from my 2100, still a couple weeks probably before it lands
            here in AU.

              @negan Am I right that the single core performance is the same as 6100?

                @mrsunfire Per core the clock speed has been raised 9% from 2.2 to 2.4 GHz.
                Total L2 cache doubled to 16MB as a function of the number of cores doubling.
                DDR4 ram speed potentially increased 12.5% to 2400 from 2133 if Netgate took advantage of it.

                  Yes, the wall mount will fit the 8200 if that's what you need.

                  Yes, the single core base clock is 2.4GHz vs 2.2GHz in the 6100.

                  Yes, the memory is faster at 2400 MT/s vs 2133MT/s.

                    @stephenw10 Thank you!
                    And none of the reported i226 disconnect issues affect the 8200?

                      I haven't seen any problems with the units I've tested nor have I seen any reports of problems from other users.

                          No worries.
                          I'm seeing some rumour and wild speculation about i226v NICs but nothing that looks like a defined issue. And I've seen nothing that looks like a problem myself.
                          But if you have a specific test I'd be happy to run it against the 8200.

                            @stephenw10 - all good thank you
                            I just wish you offered the 8200 without the $100 rack mount (which will go unused in my case), or for folks who may already have a previous 4100/6100 rack mount...

                              I would call our sales guys to discuss directly. I'm not sure if they can do anything but if anyone can it's them.

                                @flynace

                                Using one of the igc (Intel I226-V) ports connected to my WAN (Sym 1Gb ONT) and running at 1000Base-T Full-Duplex and it hasn't shown any problems. Been up for over 48 hours now with no connection restarts, errors, etc.

                                At least at this point, I don't see issues with the I226 ports on this device that corroborate what the latest interwebs news is mentioning regarding other platforms that have implemented this chipset. YMMV, of course.

                                  Mmm, almost all the reports seem to be from Windows users.

                                  I've run TBs through test devices here and seen nothing. But I'd be happy to test something specific still if we find a report.
