Anyone update the Intel based 2.5gb card’s firmware easily? I’d rather not pull the PFSense box apart and put the NIC’s in a Windows PC if at all possible.

As far as I'm aware that's not possible from pfSense directly.

If anyone has done it I've love to hear from them.

From what I can tell, I am no expert by any means, IF there is an NVM update it can be run off a bootable thumb drive. The steps, process, would have to be very clear for me to even attempt it. I am not finding very clear steps......

I think you're right. As far as I can tell the update is for motherboards with the embedded i-225 chipset not the stand alone NIC's.
