You don't really uninstall it. You would just install whatever it is you want to replace it with.

@somerandomguyontheinternet gran an iso of your favorite operating system. Burn it to USB using rufus (or something else). Boot into the bios of your computer. Make sure the selection to boot from USB is the first option. Exit bios.
            That’s it.

@somerandomguyontheinternet Did you do the BIOS part he suggested? That's the important part.

@somerandomguyontheinternet pfSense isn’t a program, it is the FreeBSD operating system with a web server to configure it.

What OS are you trying to install?

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

@somerandomguyontheinternet Do you realize if you uninstall pfSense the laptop wouldn't work at all?
You have to install an operating system of some kind.

Does the laptop have a cd/dvd drive?

I don't think you can since it is not a program. You'll have to format the partition on the hard drive that it is installed on.

@jarhead yes I have an external USB drive based CD drive but every time I try to boot from that it always boots into PF sense instead

@somerandomguyontheinternet What make is the laptop?
If it's a dell, start tapping the F12 key once you see the Dell Splash screen. It'll give you a boot menu and you can choose the USB Drive from there.

If not a Dell, search for "Boot Menu" with the manufacturer.
                                They all have something similar

@somerandomguyontheinternet Yes, and you also told me it used to boot into the USB, correct??
So use the boot menu, it won't boot into pfSense and you can choose the USB instead.
If you do that and it still won't boot, then the USB you're using doesn't have a bootable image on it.

@somerandomguyontheinternet How did you create the usb drive? Maybe it isn’t being recognized as bootable.

What OS are you trying to install, Windows 11?

@somerandomguyontheinternet Windows 95 is old enough it may not work on a current PC.

                                            “Other” as in…?

For example for Win11 Microsoft has a page
                                            https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
With “Create Windows 11 Installation Media” instructions.

                                            Or similar page https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10.
