      It would be really good/handy to incorporate Memtest86+ v6 into the boot menu on the next version of pfsense i.e. like with some linux distros.

      I have a rock solid qotom J1900 but since I bought a qotom i3 last year, I still can't get it into production because of random boots. Not sure if it is h/w, bios, or pfsense but memtest seems to run quite fine. But having to make a boot disk, just made me realize how convenient it is to have such a diagnostic in the menu

        Open a feature request: https://redmine.pfsense.org/

        However pfSense is deliberately kept smaller than a full Linux distro.

          @stephenw10

          Memtest is separate from any OS. You boot into it, without starting Linux or FreeBSD.

          I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

            @jknott that's right, but is comes with some linux distos as a boot menu option which is rather handy
