      A while back I was going through the docs to set up the OPT port to a second LAN. I changed some settings, and failed to get it to work (I think because of the ISP's limitations on chaining routers). Before I quit I decided to change the original LAN port on the unit to another IP address, I think I set it to either 192.168.3.1 or 192.168.1.3.

      Now when I try to get to the GUI through the browser I can't find the router. I want to reset the SG-1100 to back to factory settings, but the docs suggest I need 'Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM3)' and I only see 'Communications Port (COM3)' in my Device Manager.

      When I look for a different driver I can't find a free download.

      Is there a free driver download somewhere? Is there any other way to do a factory reset?

        If you didn't have a com3 port there before connecting it just try to use that. It's probably the 1100.

          I didn't have a COM3 port until using the 'Add Legacy Hardware' option in the Device Manager.

          I think I just realized I would need a physical Serial port to get this to work, correct?

            @csprague see

            Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
            When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

              Yeah, you don't need a serial port. A USB connected com device is built into the SG-1100. Just connect to it with a standard USB to USB micro cable and you should see the new virtual com port device detected.
