      I'm using an SG-1100.

I noticed the dashboard saying an update was available, so I told it to install. All appeared to be going normally until it restarted, now it's been "not yet ready" for over half an hour - much longer than normal. There's just a steady green light on the SG-1100 (and some flickering on the ethernet ports).

      What do I do?

Plug into the USB console port and check the status there first.

Open a ticket at https://go.netgate.com/ requesting the image if it shows corruption or a failed installation.

Hope you have a backup -- reimaging the device will overwrite the entire unit.

@rcoleman-netgate Thanks, serial console showed "efi_load_pe: Invalid DOS Signature" followed by endless BOOTP broadcasts. I've submitted a request as suggested.

I also have the same problem on n.2 1100 Netgate devices.
              What was the resolution method?

@luca-de-andreis The solution was as described above - open a ticket and request access to a firmware image, then copy it onto a memory stick and install it following the instructions at https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-1100/reinstall-pfsense.html

                It's a rather tedious, error-prone process.

At to the underlying problem that caused the update to fail, I don't know what it is.
