Intel X520T NIC on pfSense-plus 23.01 now allows 2500Mbit selection

Yay! It works too with my Arris S33 Cable Modem. It's good to see the 2.5G shown.
Apparently auto select went with 1G, boo!
I'm guessing we picked up an updated driver via 14.0-CURRENT?
Oh, yup there it is: https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/commit/sys/dev/ixgbe/ixgbe.h

Yes, pulled in the driver updates from FreeBSD main.
Does it link correctly if you set it to 2.5G?
You might be able to set the available advertised link rates to have autoselect negotiate it:
[23.01-RELEASE][root@6100.stevew.lan]/root: sysctl -d dev.ix.0.advertise_speed dev.ix.0.advertise_speed: Control advertised link speed using these flags: 0x1 - advertise 100M 0x2 - advertise 1G 0x4 - advertise 10G 0x8 - advertise 10M 0x10 - advertise 2.5G 0x20 - advertise 5G 100M and 10M are only supported on certain adapters.

@stephenw10 Thanks Steve!
Yes, it links correctly if I select 2500Mbps in the GUI. Auto negotiation resulted in 1000Mbps.I had previously had to monkey in the appropriate file and the reported speed was “unknown”.
I actually prefer to set the link speed manually, I’m not sure I entirely trust NBASE-T negotiation yet.
I’ll be running the other port at 10G as soon as I can get some time to set up the 10G ports on my Brocade switches, and find where the 10GBase-T SFP+ transceiver has got to. Cat8 cables of course.

Love that these latest drivers are showing the correct speeds now.
Just an FYI..you only need UTP Cat6A cable for 10GBase-T up to 100m. But if you want to run Cat8 shielded mega cables, have at it.. ;-)

But then it should be also Patchkabel RJ45, CAT6A, 1200Mhz, S-STP(S/FTP) - with cables lower then 1200MHz you might be not ensuring to get 10 GbE over the full 100 meters correctly, without any trouble and problems

10GBase-T SFP+ transceiver
10Gbase-T tranceivers have limited support. might or might not work
dac's are your friend, much cheaper also
