Sorry for the silly question, but any issues in plugging in one of the Netgate 1100 ports into a PoE switch? I have a security camera NVR with an internal PoE switch. All the cameras are directly plugged into this switch, and in order for me to access the direct video streams from the cameras I need to be on the internal switch. I'm not as familiar with PoE, but don't want to potentially blow out the Netgate 1100 by plugging it into a PoE switch where it receives power when it's not expecting to.

Standards compliant PoE switches should not supply power on a port unless it sees the connected device is a PoE consumer. But not all switches are made equal! As such the 1100 is not rated for PoE even though I would expect it to work without issue.
If it's a managed switch you should just be able to disable PoE on the port the 1100 is connected to.

@stephenw10 That said... I have an 1100 out in the field plugged into a Netgear GS110TP and it works without issues.

Standards-compliant hardware will not pass power. YMMV when using hardware that isn't one of the 10-15 major manufacturers but if they state that the hardware follows the 802.3af/at/bt standards then you really should be fine.
