      Hello,
We have a pfsense router setup using Grande internet for years without issue. Recently, we switched to Spectrum with dedicated ip. We were told we must use their modem and router (RAC2V1K) and their support turn their router into bridge mode. I changed our pfsense's WAN interface to setup a new gateway ip and also assigned the static ip from Spectrum. However, we aren't able to ping anything other than the gateway ip / static ip assigned to us from within Pfsense. If we switch that gateway ip and static IP back to our old provider (Grande) and connect their ethernet cable to pfsese directly, it works properly but not with new ip/gateway and spectrum router. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

@bocchun I had a similar sounding issue in a data center when they routed traffic in but forgot to allow traffic out. I could ping the gateway but a traceroute past it got no response.

Also possible is they double assigned the static IP. I’ve had Comcast do that before. I believe we found that by turning off the client’s router and could still ping the IP.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

@steveits Thank you for your reply. If I take our pfsense out of the setup and only using their modem and router (with DHCP), everything works. I can get in/out traffic and IPs all pingable. Only when we put RAC2V1K router in bridge mode and trying to put pfsense behind it, we can't ping outside of our gateway.
