      Dear Guys,

      I tried to upgrade my pfSense CE from v2.5.2 to v2.6 but the upgrade process failed as per the enclosed screenshots. Noting that all installed packages are up to date.

      Please advise!

        @mohkhalifa There is this
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/troubleshooting/upgrades.html#segmentation-fault-in-pkg
        but that's only on certain Netgate hardware AFAIK, and you don't have the SSL error.

        Smells more like a hardware problem to me. Have you run a memory test?

        Since you're on CE it'd be straightforward to install then restore your config.

        Since you mention packages, two notes...

        • Netgate recommends uninstalling packages for upgrades.
        • if you are on 2.5 and upgraded packages with the current/2.6 update branch selected you may have corrupted your install. In which case, install and restore.

        Steve

        Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. If yours is older, select it in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, let it finish; do not reboot early. Allow 10-15 minutes, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          Dear @steveits,

          Thanks for your kind reply. creating a fresh new VM with v2.6 it will be a nightmare as I have about 10x network cards with custom configurations and it's not easy to re-create it again. I would be thankful if there is another solution.

          Thanks
