PFSense stops working
-
I have not made any changes to PFSense in months. However, over the last copuple of weeks I have begun to experience problems.
My PFsense is hosted on a PC. It has been on there for years.
2.6.0-RELEASE (amd64)
built on Mon Jan 31 19:57:53 UTC 2022
FreeBSD 12.3-STABLEIntel(R) Core(TM) i3-6100 CPU @ 3.70GHz
4 CPUs: 1 package(s) x 2 core(s) x 2 hardware threads
AES-NI CPU Crypto: Yes (active)
QAT Crypto: No
8GB RAM 14% utilizedNot running a VPN or anything fancy. Mostly just pfBlockerNG
I noticed a few weeks ago I was having issues with my Internet going out. I did support with the ISP and they concluded that the problem was on my end. I never found what that was.
Going forward, I've been having more times where the Internet was not reachable. Recently, when the Internet was reachable, the web GUI for PFSense was also not responding. I would get
502 Bad Gateway nginx
The console on the PC where PFSense runs would respond though. But when I first turn on the monitor I'm greeted with a screen full of lines stating
pfsense config_aqm unable to configure flowset - flowset busy!
I'm able to use the ping tool from the menu on the console to ping computers within my network, but I'm not able to ping to the outside world. The only solution I've been able to find is to reboot the PFSense PC.
Lately I've been having to reboot the computer once a day and now I'm having to do it more than once a day.
This is getting hard to work with now. I'm not sure where to start looking. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks
Jason

Yes.
dail this into the forum search box :config_aqm unable to configure flowset - flowset busy!
(or Google dor that matter)
and you see that 2.6.0 has (had) some issues.
Are you using any traffic shaping rules ? The captive portal ? -
Mmm, that error is usually the result of traffic shaping and isn't usually a problem.
