pfSense-pkg-nut installation failed
-
I manage an SG-3100. I wanted to install the pfSense-pkg-nut package. The install failed with this error:
WARNING: Current pkg repository has a new PHP major
version. pfSense should be upgraded before
installing any new package.I have read some things that indicate this happens if the unit is not running the latest and greatest (22.05 vs. 23.01). Are the 22.05 package repositories gone already? Or is the problem that somewhere there needs to be a pointer to repository_22.05, instead of repository_latest? (The Debian Linux equivalent would be fixing sources.list.)
Alternatively, is there good reason to believe that upgrading an SG-3100 (not running ZFS) to 23.01 would work? After I bricked two SG-1100's (not production) trying to upgrade them to 23.01, I am shy. I had been thinking I would wait until 23.0x (x>1), but obviously that has not happened yet. Perhaps I could request a recovery image in advance of the attempt instead of after it failed?
Best wishes,
Ken

If you are on 22.05 and want to stay there and make changes to packages you need to go to System > Update and set the update Branch to stay on 22.05.
If the branch is set to 23.01 it's going to try to pull things from 23.01.
The 3100 is fine on 23.01 in general, the problem that affected the 1100/2100 only affected the 1100/2100 and not other platforms.
