Help finding a compatible NIC
-
Hello, I would like some help finding a wired pcie Nic from here https://www.umart.com.au/pc-parts/networking/network-adapters/wired-pcie-adapters-972
The FreeBSD hardware list for Ethernet interfaces is about 10 years old and doesn’t help https://www.freebsd.org/releases/13.0R/hardware/#support
I bought a tp-link tg3468 but pfsense didn’t see the Nic.
linixmint OS worked fine. -
You must find out wich network chip is soldered on that
NIC and then you should look if this will be supported
under FreeBSD.Linux is Linux and BSD is BSD, they are both "unixoide" OS´s
but different. -
That TP-Link card has a Realtek chipset, probably RTL8168B.

Mmm, I would expect that to be supported by re(4). We'd need to see the PCI IDs to know for sure.
None of the cards listed there really look that great. You want to use something Intel based if possible. Used OEM rebranded cards are almost always available.
