@josephchrzempiec https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/hardware/minimum-requirements.html :) Note also the "note" there, because "it depends"...100 Mbit links have different requirements than 5 Gbit links...are packages such as IDS being used, how many clients, etc. etc.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

            Minimum Hardware Requirements

            • 64-bit amd64 (x86-64) compatible CPU.
            • 1GB or more RAM.
            • 8 GB or larger disk drive (SSD, HDD, etc)
            • One or more compatible network interface cards.
            • Bootable USB drive or high capacity optical drive (DVD or BD) for initial installation.

And for all other thinks I am more with @SteveITS, it depends
on many more points only you know.

            • Internet connection speed?
            • WiFi or not and when, for how many users?
            • Firewall only, or turned into a fully UTM device?
            • Wired network for 10, 100, 1000 or 10.000 users?

While not the minimum, you might consider a mini PC like the one described in my sig. It doesn't draw much power, so you could save a bit that way. I believe the newer versions support 2.5 Gb Ethernet.

PfSense running on Qotom mini PC
i5 CPU, 4 GB memory, 32 GB SSD & 4 Intel Gb Ethernet ports.
              UniFi AC-Lite access point

              I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

Go to Aliexpress and look up Qotom. They have a variety and you can choose what goes into them. They're aimed at the pfSense/Opnsense market.

Hello all, Thank you for replying back to my post. I'm only trying having one server connected to my pfsense router that is all. I was looking for the minimum requirements to run a pfsense router. I have found a few. Sense I only have one server and no need of more I have a small computer with 2gb of memory and 32gb of hard drive on a computer I have should be perfect for it.
