TCP handshake RTT monitor
-
Hi @jimp,
Thank you for responding to my feature request #14177. I did not want to clutter up the request with my feedback. You are absolutely right, any service even if you are using its intended protocol, but for the unattended purpose of monitoring might get flagged as suspicious behavior. I don’t know of any service where the “standard” query interval is low enough to not draw suspicion, but still frequent enough for it to be a viable monitor. That said, I still think this option could still be beneficial for specific use-cases.
Ideally it seems to me, using BGP with BFD would be the most correct approach. And while the datacenter offered that handoff connectivity configuration, I can’t comprehend how a First Hop Redundancy Protocol like CARP and this could work. Can you provide any documentation, or insight on how that might be achieved?
