Hello fellow Netgate community members,
Is there any updated PfSense text books that are published, the one I would like to purchase is from 2009.

There are no more physical copies, the book is now considered to be a "living document", continually updated.
All of the book content was combined with the old wiki content and the result is all together at https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/
There are buttons on that page to download PDF and ePub versions if you want to read it offline on a tablet and so on.
