      No changes done on my end. First time i ever encountered this issue.

      DNS is working properly on the firewall.

      On top of that i see successful resolutions on cloudflare

      Firewall: NetGate,Palo Alto-VM,Juniper SRX
      Routing: Juniper, Arista, Cisco
      Switching: Juniper, Arista, Cisco
      Wireless: Unifi, Aruba IAP
      JNCIP,CCNP Enterprise

        Solved it.
        There was a repo defined in my list - found at /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/

        Deleted the repo and i was able to bring down a list.

        I knew there was an issue when i ran the following command from the shell:
        pkg clean -ay

        Firewall: NetGate,Palo Alto-VM,Juniper SRX
        Routing: Juniper, Arista, Cisco
        Switching: Juniper, Arista, Cisco
        Wireless: Unifi, Aruba IAP
        JNCIP,CCNP Enterprise
