ntopng top talkers no values
-
@stephenw10 Right i was looking at the old Youtube clips from Netgate specifically the traffic monitoring one. ntopng should be able to give me who was the top talker at any given point. The previous package had that ability so something changed in the package now.
Question for yah- How do i hunt down the IP thats talking the most?
- If you remember form a previous post (awhile ago), bandwidthd wont cut it so im looking for other options hence ntopng.
- Is it possible to go back to the previous version of ntopng?
-
Hmm, do you have 'Create Interface Top Talkers' enabled if you click the cog icon for that interface?
-
@stephenw10 Yes i do. Setting is toggled on by default.
-
This used to be there in previous ntopng releases

Unfortunately my problem isnt browser-related like what i linked above. This is a package issue with a feature missing. Now i understand thisnt isnt specifcally a Netgate issue but is there any way the previous package can be made available in the repo?
Also the graph showing the time datapoints seems to be set in GMT but theres no way to change that.. -
Hmm, seems like the fields in the table are not being updated as you mouse-over the graph as expected...
-
@stephenw10 Yep. Ive used both rrd and influxdb for timeseries. Just testing things out because i thought that was an issue but it isnt.
-
Mmm, seems more like a display issue than of recording the data.
-
@stephenw10 were you able to test on your side?
-
Yes, I see the same as you. Not found a way to workaround it yet.
-
@stephenw10 Thanks Stephen. Would this fall under TAC Lite so i can ge ta ticket open?
Right now there isnt a good solution similar to ntop to find top talkers across various interfaces.
BandwisethD only listens on one interface.
ntopng works across multiple interfaces and used to give top talkers in a historical way in previous versions of pfsense but not in 23.01 -
@stephenw10 i opened a redmine to track

No packages are not covered by TAC Lite. But this seems like a bug anyway so opening a bug report is correct way to go.
