Recently updated a Netgate SG-2100 to 23.01 and was forced to do so from CLI, as the update via Web UI kept reporting "Unable to check for updates" both on the dashboard and on the System> Update page.

I used pfSense-upgrade -d to upgrade from CLI and everything seems to have gone ok with the upgrade process, but I'm still having strange issues being able to check for updates or install new packages.

The dashboard reports that the system is on the latest version, but if I go to System > Update it reports that it's unable to check for updates. Or sometimes the page fails to load at all and gives a gateway timeout.

      pkg-static info -x pfSense-upgrade didn't report any issues.

I've tried in several different browsers, so it's not a browser cache issue.

What's the next step? I'd prefer not to reinstall if it can be avoided, but I do have a recovery image ready if it comes to that.
