      From what I've read this is a known issue. I'm sorry of this has been answered and I missed it. My update failed, except the 2100 is still running fine.

      The error I got is "ERROR : The EFI partition on this device is too small to receive the updated arm64 EFI loader."

      My concern is at this point is my device safe to reboot or will it be bricked?

      So I'm hoping this is actually the fixed update and my 2100 is still fine to use and I can update it manually whenever I get around to it. Or am I going to get a bad surprise if the power goes out and comes back on.

        @chrisj-0 That's the update aborting. You're safe. You will need to reinstall to get 23.01 or future versions.
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/netgate-2100/reinstall-pfsense.html

        On the plus side, you'll get ZFS.

        (the original issue was, it did not stop, failed to write the EFI, and upon reboot did not boot up)

        Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          Oh it was a bit worse... it renamed the old EFI file, then failed to write the new one, and then rebooted then did absolutely nothing.

            @steveits That's what I thought, but I wasn't 100% sure.
            It seemed like I dodged a bullet for once by being lazy and ignoring the update alert.

              Yeah, you should be fine. Just reinstall 23.01 clean when you can.
