Hi, I'm new to both Netgate and PFSense and I just got a new 1100 out of the box. Everything seems to be OK except this ammount of memory utilization, is it normal?

      Thanks in advance,

@abdelcp I'm assuming it is on v23.01. Install the System Patches package. There are quite a lot of recommended patches for this version and one disables some overnight cron jobs that fill up ZFS ARC cache memory. Reboot, and it shouldn't recur overnight.

That said ZFS ARC will use memory and is supposed to give it up, so in the long term it should be a non-issue.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

@steveits said in Netgate 1100 high memory utilization:

          ZFS ARC

Thank you, did it and now it looks more "normal".
