I'm struggling with my modest pfsense config and Blink Cam/Sync modules needs. I have minimal FW rules in and out, just enough to keep most of the bad guys out.

If I revert to the initial pfsense state, the Blink stuff all works. Restore to my current config and everything stops. Things were working with the current config for months maybe even a year or more, but something changed.

I think the Blink stuff had open connections and weren't impacted as I became more knowledgeable/familiar with pfsense as I slowly tweaked this and that.

Of course now I don't know what switch flip caused the issue!

Anyone have the Blink system and pfsense? Any suggestions?

Searches suggested the cams and sync modules (in particular) need to have some type of access to Google's 8.8.8.8 DNS service. I've changed my DNS resolver to use the Google DNS servers, no luck. I have the devices use dhcp/static IPs, so I've gone into each device and forced it to use 8.8.8.8 for DNS, no luck.

I'm pretty sure its a DNS or ICMP issue but don't know how to fix.

Figured out the button I tweaked. I had an old config file and diff'd it with the current. Change by change I thought about the implications. The winner was that I noticed the old file had "Enable UPnP & NAT-PMP" enabled and "Allow NAT-PMP Port Mapping" enabled, but they weren't on the current configuration. Switched them on and its off to the races.

        Problem solved.
