DNS Resolver, unbound Killed
-
Since installing 23.01 I have been have issues where unbound is being killed with the following message in system logs.
Mar 29 03:02:38 kernel pid 223 (unbound), jid 0, uid 59, was killed: failed to reclaim memory
It always seems to be at the same time. I can restart the DNS Resolver service and it runs fine until it is killed again.
I have read in posts to try to disable DNSSEC and also Harden DNSSEC. Have disabled both setting and still getting killed at 3:02 am.
SG-1100, 23.01-RELEASE, PFBlockerng 3.2.0_4, unbound 1.17.1 python. I am not a pfsense expert in any way. Hope you and get back to a stable system. -
@jerryf72 with 23.05 close to release (in RC today), it would be nice to reproduce this on 23.05.

@jerryf72 Did you install the patches from the System Patches package and restart? There is one to disable unneeded 3am cron jobs that (per other long threads) filled up ZFS ARC memory. The cron jobs are disabled in 23.05.
