Slow reboot on upgrade
-
I hope this is the right place to post this. I have a NG 5100. Just did an upgrade to 23.01 via the firewall GUI. It took 12 minutes to finish reboot.
May 13 11:19:07 reboot 50639 rebooted by root May 13 11:19:12 syslogd exiting on signal 15 May 13 11:31:13 syslogd kernel boot file is /boot/kernel/kernel May 13 11:31:13 kernel ---<<BOOT>>---
This delayed reboot seems to happen with each upgrade. I have not timed the previous upgrades, but I do remember they felt relatively slow. The default wait time on the firewall GUI is insufficient. The browser attempts to reconnect every 20 seconds.
If 12 minutes is a reasonable reboot time for this hardware, then it would be helpful to update the firewall GUI to not expect such a short window.

It varies based on hardware, config complexity, and numerous other factors. There is no way to know beforehand how long it will take, so it just retries periodically. There is already a feature request in to get rid of the confusing countdown timer:
