      Might sound like a dumb question but when your just a hack it happens...lol

      I am attempting to install a Debian web server connected to a Pfsense router (172.16.0.1) on the DMZ interface (172.20.0.1). I would like to setup network manually as such:

      • IP - 172.20.0.50
      • Subnet - 255.255.255.0
      • Gateway - ???
      • Name Server - ???

      Not sure what to use for GW and DNS and why. Any help or a brief description as to why would be helpful.

      Greatly appreciate the educational help in advance.

        @Digiguy
        If you are unsure enter the pfSense interface address (172.20.0.1) for both.

        For the gateway it is necessary to use it. For DNS depends on if it runs the Resolver or Forwarder. But since you don't know, I guess, it does, because it's the default settings.

          @viragomann Greatly appreciate the fast response! Will give it a go per your suggestion/recommendations. I also thought about setting up with dhcp then analyze it. Will keep on truckin!
