Did the forum software change/updated? Themes/Skins in particular?

Is the site on mobile affected as well? Since i think last week, the layout has changed where i use to get notifications on the left hand side but now its on the right and there are some overall format changes.

@michmoor Yes I was on mobile earlier. Though IIRC the notification in a mobile browser was on the upper right before for me. I haven't tried other themes except for Slate, above, maybe some differ?

It use to have like 1 new post, or 2 new posts as text in the colored box.. when new posts showed up - now its just this..

@johnpoz Oh the new post/thread notification box? Yes I see that. It shows the box but has no content/message. Presumably a bug. I don't recall how that showed on mobile 100% but I think there at the top of the page. There's a "notifications" bell at the top right.
Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

Yeah that is still there and shows up with new stuff that following, etc.
But that colored box at the top of recent would show up when there are newer posts in the recent that you are not seeing, etc. Now it just a colored box with no text in it.

On the Slate theme
The quote text is somewhat difficult to read, because it white/dark grey text on light grey background.
Also does the the topic name have larger font that previously? -

Yes. And/or bolder.
@ all, seems the search is missing all the Advanced options such as the ability to search by date? I do that quite a lot looking for a recent thread to show someone. I search for "swap" has 600+ results dating back to 2013. :(

@SteveITS yeah that is completely different - and doesn't seem like you can search by poster either. So date filtering missing, and poster.. Sure hope the back end stuff was good stuff because so far not to impressed with changes ;)

I mean it could be....
Yeah I used Slate too and it's broken for me in the update in a few signifcant ways. Testing other skins...

is this something that can be looked at on the netgate side? Does the search items for date and poster work in other skins - I hadn't checked on that.. I would think that would be like common across all skins?

@johnpoz I'd expect the skin to not affect a feature but
. More likely an on/off choice for it? Or, https://docs.nodebb.org has almost nothing on it except mentioning search plugins exist so maybe an updated plugin is needed. -

The search options? It was on the Search page. There was an Advanced Options banner IIRC, where one could expand it pick the account/author, newer than 2 weeks, date range, etc. Half a dozen options like that. Now it only shows the standard/not-advanced options on the left.
Useful if looking for a specific post or recent thread. A workaround for the author is to go to their profile page and look at their lists of posts but that requires knowing who posted it.

Yes it was on this forum site. IIRC a grey banner across the search page, under the initial search fields, down a bit on the page. Said Advanced Search or something like that. Sorry for being vague, didn't know to document it. :)
archive.org for it shows the redirect to /login.

@stephenw10 well that would suck if this versions search doesn't allow you set dates, like before you could say only show results from the last week or month.
And I could look for just my own posts, or just yours for example - not anybody that ever used a title or title and post text that said "nic driver" for example..
