I'm no longer using my Netgate XG-1541 as a router/VPN server. I've thought of selling it, but something else popped into my mind. Can I turn it into an Ubuntu server and install the latest Ubuntu on it? Not sure if there are limitations with this.

Should be no problem. There's nothing we set on those boxes that would prevent it.

          • TNSR might be perhaps nice to play on that machine!?
          • SoftEtherVPN Server may be also nices playing on it.
          • OpenWRT is also able to install on that device
