6100 LEDs stuck in boot pattern

I upgraded my 6100 firmware (.18) on my system running 23.05. I did the usual power off sequence to get the firmware to upgrade. When the system booted, the LEDs stayed in the blue flashing sequence indicating that it was still booting. A few services didn't start, which is usual for this system (dhcpd, udpbroadcastrelay, and wireguard), but I was able to start all except wireguard manually.
Are the LEDs tied to all services starting, or is there something else that triggers that? It's up and running, just aggressively blinking. I'll try another reboot again later, but was curious if this was an indication of some other problem.

...there is no "usual power off sequence" for a pfSense upgrade? Can you explain further? One starts the update, and it restarts on its own.

Yes the LEDs switch to the 'normal running' pattern once it sees 'bootup complete'. So something on your system is stalling the bootup sequence.
When you upgrade the BIOS (Blinkboot) and it includes a code update for the microcontroller you need to power cycle the device entirely which I assume OP meant by "usual power off sequence".

I forget sometimes some models have actual firmware upgrades and it's not the more frequent posts here about pfSense itself being "firmware"... I read right over the first sentence apparently. -
@stephenw10 Yeah, the standard firmware update sequence rather than the 23.05 installation is what I was referring to.
I can hook up a console cable later and reboot, unless one of the logs in the Web GUI is useful to check first. For example, General or OS Boot.

Since it's starting packages it will be past the 'OS Boot' log so look in the general log.
If it never actually finishes booting try running at the command line:
ps auxwwd
You may see one of the scrips still running. -
@stephenw10 Relevant messages were off the screen by the time I looked and nothing jumped out in the processes. I hooked up a console to grab logs and it was in single user mode. Odd. I rebooted and sure enough everything came back like before (all services) and the blue LED is back in the normal booted state.
I’ll keep an eye on it to see if it happens again.
