My Netgate 4100 is not being offered the 23.05 upgrade. The Status/Dashboard states the status of my appliance is "The system is on the latest version", which is 23.01-RELEASE.

To investigate this issue I ran Option 13 on the console menu and got a output of:

"Your device has not been registered for pfSense+. Please purchase a pfSense+ subscription at the <a href="https://shop.netgate.com/products/pfsense-software-subscription" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Netgate store</a> to receive future updates".

Additional investigation reveals that my 4100 appliance has 2 Device ID's.

The appliance sticker device ID on the bottom of my 4100 is different than the Status/Dashboard "Netgate Device ID".

I kept the cardboard portion of the box that my 4100 was packed in, and those label details match the sticker on my 4100 appliance.

I believe this is a new problem because I recall previous upgrades were not affected by this issue.

How can I correct this problem?

How can I make the Status/Dashboard ID match my appliance device sticker?

It seems this problem effects my ability to upgrade my device via the GUI and/or the console via option 13, because my device reports to Netgate I have a unregistered copy of the pfSense software.

When a user requests a upgrade file image by filing out TAC Lite user request, and provides the Device ID, is the supplied download file tied to the Device ID?

I have received a reply to my recent 23.05 image file request, so if I install this 23.05 image upgrade, will this fix my reported problem?

Yes, that will fix your issue.
However if you don't want to reinstall you can probably complete that upgrade by first running at the command line (not via the gui):

        pkg-static upgrade pfSense-repoc

With that on the latest version you should be able to upgrade as expected.

If no please open a ticket and include the two NDIs you're seeing:

The installation of the Netgate provided 23.05 update image file did not correct the primary problem that I am very concerned about. That my 4100 device ID in the pfSense software dashboard does not match my device product sticker. My 4100 device still shows a Device ID that is wrong on the dashboard with the 23.05 update. My device product sticker and the pfSense software device ID are different. I would think that will still effect my ability to up update my device in a normal way via the console (option 13), or the GUI.

Maybe I required a custom firmware update to write my proper Device ID to the firmware so my 4100 device will be properly registered for pfSense+ so I do not receive the error message...

"Your device has not been registered for pfSense+. Please purchase a pfSense+ subscription at the <a href="https://shop.netgate.com/products/pfsense-software-subscription" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Netgate store</a> to receive future updates".

I am posting this feedback to help the pfSense community in case anyone experiences the same, or similar problem.

I will fill out a TAC Lite help request.

          Thank You.

@cable_label Ok, so you didn't submit a ticket earlier when suggested -- I was asking what the ticket was for the previous TAC interaction. Follow the instructions I provided on the ticket response so we can work to get to the bottom of the issue you are experiencing.
