I'm looking to use FreeRADIUS as a proxy server to forward insecure RADIUS requests from older/less powerful infrastructure devices to RadSec-enabled servers. I know I can use the file editor to alter the proxy.conf file, but I was hoping that there was a way to do things a bit more cleanly - according to https://forum.netgate.com/topic/58612/pfsense-freeradius-webgui-vs-config-files-proxy-conf the file gets overwritten every package/OS update, and while that's an old post it seems to still be accurate. Is it possible to make the package aware of/add an editor for the proxy.conf file, so we can make changes that are preserved across upgrades?
