Read if you have problems updating after upgrading to >=23.05
-
When I upgraded to the 23.05, pfsense recognized a new network interface that wasn't available in the previous kernel with pfsense 2.6. This changed the nid (netgateid). This is important when you go to the update section to select the new branch.
So when I went to the update section, it said there wasn't a new update (no selection available in the select box) because the nid I had was different from the nid it was registered on netgate servers when I did the conversion to the plus.
Not seeing a valid nid, it didn't propose a branch updateSo when you buy a paid or a free plus license, you receive a token.
With this token you can send and register your nid in their plus licences database. When you hit update, your pfsense software sends the nid to the netgate servers and if valid you receive a valid branch for upgrade.
If you are in the same situation as mine, simply open a ticket with the support and ask to replace your old nid with the new one (you can read it from pfsense home dashboard.)
Let me know if you resolved.
